We are happy to welcome back Rabbi Hannah Estrin for another engaging and accessible class created by the Shalom Hartman Institute as part of their series, Foundations for a Thoughtful Judaism.

Together, we will explore some of the most compelling questions in Jewish thought around God in our lives. Where does faith come from? Does God take an active role? What are the models in Jewish tradition for a complex relationship with God, which includes reverence and joy but also anger and argument? Where does doubt fit into a life of faith? Where do Jews who do not believe fit in? Where was God when...?

There is no cost for this class, but there is a required course text. PDF links for the class readings are included (in the registration confirmation email), but you are welcome to order a phyiscal copy of the course book if you prefer.

Session Topics:
Divine Intervention - Biblical Perspectives
Divine Intervention- Rabbinic Approaches
Divine Intervention and Human Initiative
Faith and Tragedy
Faith and Blessing
