Shavuot Drive for Displaced Immigrants

All Day for 6 DaysLobbyCEC's Social Action Committee is seeking donations of packages of diapers and boxes of granola bars to give to the immigrants being bussed from Texas to the Glen Ellyn train station, on their way to Chicago. Recently as many as four travel buses a day are being met by Spanish-speaking members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Glen Ellyn. In addition to words of comfort, these parishioners deliver basic supplies to ease the migrants' journey.
Please bring what you can to the donation receptacle in the temple lobby by Shavuot (service on Tuesday, June 11th). We will then deliver them to St. Mark's for distribution to the newly arriving migrants.
Additionally, monetary donations to the Tzedakah Box currently are dedicated to Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants which provides direct social services to the immigrant population in Chicago (see: ICDI (icdichicago.org). Thank you for your care and generosity!
